There are only a few days left until classes start, and we could not be more excited to welcome our students into our new studios! With three state-of-the-art studios featuring sprung floors, brand new marley, and new sound systems we are certainly set up for success this year. Now let’s make sure our students are ready to go too! Here’s a few quick reminders about getting back into dance after summer vacation.
— If you’ve been ‘off’ all summer… Time to get back into dance mode! It can be a lot to handle, heading back to school and back to dance all at once. Remember sore muscles are normal. Take the time to stretch and warm up before classes to ensure that your body is ready to go. Drink lots of water, make sure you’re getting enough sleep, and if you have a break between classes, bring that homework! Start the year off right and create habits you want to keep for the rest of the year.
— If you attended a Summer Intensive this year… It can be hard to maintain the momentum that we feel during the summer when dancing without the worries of school. Write down your corrections and things you improved on most during the summer as a reminder of your goals for the year. Strive to keep working on those steps that challenged you over the summer, and use that as motivation for the year! Remember to find time to rest and keep taking care of your mind and body.
